Real-world evidence for COSELA
Real-world evidence for COSELA

REAL-WORLD STUDY OF COSELA EVALUATING DOSE REDUCTIONS/DELAYS AND HOSPITALIZATIONS

Real-world outcomes of trilaciclib among patients with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer receiving chemotherapy2

A retrospective, observational synthesis of real-world data of COSELA use in patients with ES-SCLC receiving chemotherapy2,a,b

Real-world evidence is observational and may be subject to limitations, including lack of randomization.

Small sample size of the cohort receiving COSELA was a study limitation. COSELA was approved by the FDA in February 2021. Some data were collected before approval, when COSELA was not included in the standard of care. Comparisons between the cohorts that received COSELA and those that did not may therefore reflect evolving treatment practices and access to supportive care over time.

ES-SCLC=extensive-stage small cell lung cancer; LOT1=COSELA initiation before or during first line of therapy; RWD=real-world data.

a
This real-world evidence review of COSELA should be interpreted in the context of the limitations of the underlying studies, with the most important ones being lack of comparative effectiveness studies and small sample size.2
b
The real-world outcomes associated with COSELA were generally consistent with clinical trials, despite a higher proportion of elderly population, poorer performance status, and variation in timing of initiation of COSELA in real-world studies.2
