Trilaciclib is a recommended option for patients with ES-SCLC in both NCCN Guidelines® and ASCO® clinical guidelines

NCCN Guidelines

  • NCCN Category 2A: Recommended as a prophylactic option to reduce chemotherapy-induced myelosuppression in ES-SCLC3,4,a-c
  • NCCN Category 2B: Recommended as a prophylactic option for decreasing anemia and the need for red blood cell transfusions in ES-SCLC3,b,d

ASCO Guidelines

  • COSELA may be used if clinically indicated in patients with ES-SCLC5
ASCO=American Society of Clinical Oncology; ES-SCLC=extensive-stage small cell lung cancer; G-CSF=granulocyte colony-stlmulatlng factor; NCCN=National Comprehensive Cancer Network.
a
Trilaciclib may be used as a prophylactic option to decrease the incidence of chemotherapy-induced myelosuppression when administered before (prophylactic G-CSF may be administered after cycle 1) platinum/etoposide ± immune checkpoint inhibitor-containing regimens or a topotecan-containing regimen for ES-SCLC. Use of trilaciclib in this setting is a category 2A recommendation (based upon lower-level evidence, there is uniform NCCN consensus (>85% support of the panel) that the intervention is appropriate).

Trilaciclib may be used as a prophylactic option to decrease the incidence of anemia and red blood cell (RBC) transfusions when administered before platinum/etoposide ± immune checkpoint inhibitor-containing regimens or a topotecan-containing regimen for ES-SCLC. Use of trilaciclib in this setting is a category 2B recommendation (based upon lower-level evidence, there is uniform NCCN consensus (>50%, but <85% support of the panel) that the intervention is appropriate).
